1. The role of lysine in feed


Lysine, also known as growth amino acid, is an essential substance for synthesizing animal tissue proteins, and is also the main component of important substances such as enzymes, hormones, and antibodies in the body. Adding lysine supplements to pig feed can significantly improve the growth performance of piglets, relieve stress response, and reduce diarrhea rate, which will increase the protein deposition rate of fattening pigs, reduce pig backfat thickness, and significantly increase eye muscle area and lean meat deposition. 2. Identification method of true and false lysine


(1) Appearance identification


True lysine: white or light yellow or light brown powder or random small granules, tasteless or slightly sour, sweet and sour, without astringency.


Adulterated lysine: abnormal color and odor, some have ammonia stimulation or aromatic odor, taste impurity-like astringency, and taste is not correct.


(2) Difference in solubility


True lysine: easily soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol and ether.


Adulterated lysine: insoluble in water, with sediment or float.


(3) Burning identification


True lysine: Immediately after ignition, it emits an unpleasant special odor similar to that produced when burning feathers, and it can be quickly burned without residue. The smoke from combustion is an alkaline gas that can turn wet pH paper blue.


Adulterated lysine: incomplete combustion, with obvious residue, or no such odor or less odor when burned.
